In May of 2013, president and principal engineer, Jess R. Gregory, established Gregory Engineering, Inc. Since its inauguration, GEI has grown into a well-respected, professional engineering company that offers a variety of services. GEI has a broad range of experience from conceptual design through construction, including engineering, drafting, surveying, project management, construction site management, client service, and record drawings. It is no secret that GEI is a small engineering company, but the size of the company does not represent its passion for producing an excellent product and allows for a unique professional-to-client experience with superior attention to detail. The team at GEI has deep roots in Northern California, and they do their best to serve the community that has shaped and instructed them. Besides providing the community with professional services, GEI regularly supports 4H and FFA organizations by purchasing livestock at several County Fair junior livestock auctions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty Other duties may be assigned which may become essential to the position.
- Prepare plans, specifications, engineering calculations, and estimates for the construction of public and private projects.
- Coordinate project activities and work closely with all stakeholders including but not limited to the project team, field personnel, agency staff, clients, utility companies, other consultants, and contractors.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education / Experience / Licenses
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.
- California Professional Engineers (PE) license
- 10 years post-graduate engineering experience.
- Experience in responsible charge of multiple and concurrent projects.
- Good social, written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to work well remotely and collaboratively
- Reputation as a trusted and respected member of the engineering community.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for travel.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Proficient in Auto CAD Civil 3D, Google Earth Pro, and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge, skills and abilities required of a Civil Engineer
- Working knowledge and experience in engineering, topographic surveys, reading title reports, and technical writing.
- Capable of multi-tasking and prioritizing heavy workloads.
- Flexible with workstream, job tasks, and demonstrate a willingness to help clients with whatever is needed.
- A self-starter who is resourceful, works independently, and adaptable to working in a fast-paced team setting.
- Able and willing to travel and work in variable weather conditions and challenging terrain.
- Meticulous with details.
- Capable of making technical and procedural decisions within specified limits of authority

The compensation for this position is $98,000 to $125,000 annually. Exact compensation varies based on skills and experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily while under direction and normal supervision. Other duties may be assigned which may become essential to the position.
- Prepare plans, specifications, engineering calculations, and estimates for the construction of public and private projects.
- Under direction and minimal supervision, perform complex civil engineering work, ensuring technical competence and compliance with governing regulations and industry standards such as the CA Building Code; Handbook for Forest, Ranch and Rural Roads; local, state, and federal jurisdiction public codes (State and Regional Water Boards, CDFW, USACE, etc.).
- • Participate in project activities and work closely with all stakeholders including but not limited to the project team, field personnel, agency staff, clients, utility companies, other consultants, and contractors.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education / Experience / Licenses:
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.
- Current California EIT certificate is desired but not required.
- Engineering and construction experience is desired but not required.

- Ability to communicate effectively by telephone, face to face, e-mail and in writing.
- Ability to write clear and concise technical reports and record accurate data.
- Ability to organize and manage time, work on own initiative, prioritize between conflicting demands, work at a consistently high level of accuracy and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills, experience and ability to work well within a team, and create and maintain trust and confidentiality.
- Knowledge of Windows, internet browsers, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
